Hot Sabile Apple Gin Toddy

9 Jan, 2025, No comments

Hot_toddy-1.jpg

Have you tried the Hot Toddy winter cocktail ? Did you know you can make it with gin instead of whisky? Try and enjoy this drink on a cold winter evening!

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Sabile Apple Gin (order it here);
  • 30 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice;
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey;
  • fresh lemon;
  • 150 ml hot water;
  • cinnamon stick.

Preparation:

  • Pour the gin, lemon juice and sugar or honey into a glass mug (or other container for hot drinks).
  • Add the hot water and stir well until the sugar or honey dissolves.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a slice of lemon.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Recommendations:

  • Just as the classic Hot Toddy, this drink can be customised to your liking. Adjust the amount of lemon juice, sugar or honey to your taste. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
  • Choose the sweetener to taste - white sugar is a classic choice, but brown sugar and honey will give the drink a richer flavour.
  • It is best to use freshly squeezed lemon juice, squeezing a few lemon wedges into the mug. Ready-made lemon juice can be used, adjusting the quantity to taste.
  • A cinnamon stick is almost obligatory in this drink. It adds extra flavour and can be used as a stirring stick.
  • This drink is best made with hot (not boiling) water. The water will be at the ideal temperature if heated in a kettle or microwave for about 30-45 seconds.

Pear, rosemary and apple cider aperitif

27 Apr, 2023, No comments

Aperitif with cider

Ingredients for 2 servings:
  • A little brown sugar
  • ½ lemon
  • 200 ml pear juice
  • 2 rosemary sprigs
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • 200 ml Sabile dry apple cider

Preparation:
  1. A few hours before preparation, chill the juice and the cider in the refrigerator.
  2. Take 2 glasses and wet the brim by wiping it with a lemon half. Pour the brown sugar on a saucer and dunk the brim of both glasses to coat them with sugar.
  3. In a blender, add the pear juice, squeeze in half a lemon, add cardamom and a few leaves of rosemary. The intensity of the rosemary can ruin the drink so be careful to not add too much of it.
  4. Blend the drink for a few seconds only.
  5. Taste ir - the juice should be acidic with some light sweetness. If you want it more sour, stir in a little more lemon juice.
  6. Carefully pour the juice through a sieve into the glasses, straining the blended rosemary and any pulp. Top the drink with 100ml of dry apple cider, decorate with a sprig of rosemary and serve!

"SIDRELLA" SLUSHY

4 Feb, 2023, No comments
We're choosing our ever-bright Sidrella as the flag bearer of this recipe blog! Have you ever enjoyed a delicious sparkling Aperol Spritz on a sunny terrace? Similar to this Italian cult drink, Sidrella is also made with bitter-sweet Italian vermouth, but our own Latvian apple cider makes a perfect substitute for prosecco! As our first cider cocktail, let's make a very simple and tasty Sidrella slushy!

Sidrella slushy

You will need only 2 ingredients:

✔️ Sabile Cider cocktail "Sidrella"
✔️ Orange

Preparation:

1️⃣Freeze the Sidrella in ice trays 24 hours before serving. Due to the alcohol content, a drink like this will freeze at about -3°C.
2️⃣Before serving, blend the frozen cocktail cubes into a homogeneous mass using a blender;
3️⃣ Pour the blended ice into glasses and top with some chilled Sidrella from the bottle;
4️⃣ Decorate with a slice of orange and serve!🍹🍾❤

You can also make your own Sidrella at home - pour 30ml of Aperol or other vermouth and 150ml of Sabiles Sidrs dry apple cider into a glass with ice. 🫶 When enjoying this aperitif, you will feel both the freshness of apples and the sweet bitterness of Italian herbs.

You can order a bottle (or a box) of our Sidrella quickly and conveniently in our e-store.

Cheers! 💯🍹🍾

We recommend:

Always chill sparkling cider before serving! A cider at 4-6°C will be much more refreshing and tastier. And much less prone to foam over, when opening or pouring.
